It’s a Desi version of the Mediterranean dish Tzatziki. Which is made with greek yoghurt mixed with garlic, mint, salt and pepper topped with some lemon juice. And in Cucumber Raita, we used normal yoghurt. Garlic is optional. Normally, it’s not added. But, it is a personal choice.
How to make Cucumber Raita?
- Wash, peel and grate the cucumber. Press between your hands and squeeze to release its water. Keep aside.
- Beat the yoghurt till no lumps. Add sugar, salt, bhuna jeera/roasted cumin powder. Break some mint leaves with your hand and add to this mix.
- Add the squeezed cucumber. Mix well. Garnish with red chilli powder, bhuna jeera and coriander leaves.
