Moong Dal idlis are easy lentil steamed cakes made from yellow moong dal and is vegan too.

moong dal

rice
2 – 3
tbsps
poha
/ chiwda u2013 ( for fermentation)
to taste
salt

Instructions
Soak the rice over night.
Soak moong dal alongside.
In the morning,soak poha for 15 min in water and grind rice ,poha and moong dal together. Grind coarsely .
Let the mixture ferment for 4-5 hours(in summers it may take lesser time to ferment )
Once fermented add salt and semi cooked carrots before steaming the idlis.
Steam idlis and serve hot with mint chutney/ Coconut chutney / Red tomato chutney.
