Sesame Seeds/ Til Seeds Panjiri -gluten free and vegan recipe

Sesame Seeds Panjiri– is a staple from Indian eaten as a nutritional supplement. Its generally made from wholewheat flour, but this recipe is an exception and a low fat version. This recipe does not use any flour so its gluten free and also as no use of ghee and oil has been made so this is a very nice winter dessert with no fat and is completely Vegan. Sesame or Til seeds are a Super food.

Being one of the initial oil seeds known to mankind, these seeds are an excellent source of copper, manganese, calcium, phosphorus, iron, zinc, molybdenum, and selenium. Need more reasons to include them to your meal plan? Here it goes.

They are an excellent source of omega-6 fatty acids, flavonoid phenolic anti-oxidants, vitamins, and dietary fiber with potential anti-cancer as well as health promoting properties. Other than these reasons, this recipe is very special for me because I made this for my kids who just skip any dish if they see any kind of seed shining on top when served. Also normally all recipes of Panjiri have a good amount of clarified butter/Ghee in them which I don’t enjoy. So, this recipe was an experiment to fulfill both needs and my desire to keep my desserts low on calories and light on stomach.

When this Super rich food joins hands with super healthy ingredients like nuts and dried fruits and with zero fat in it, a super dessert is served. I couldn’t have given it a more dramatic intro. No? Lol.

Til Panjiri

But it’s true to the core and my bonus is both my kids are going crazy over this Sesame seed Panjiri. So, all mothers out there must definitely save this recipe in their super serving for Kids list like me.Sesame or Til seeds are a Super food. A must prepare in winters only as Sesame seeds are hot and should not be taken in big quantities in summers. I loved it with my evening Tea !
