Green lentil Burgers / Moong Dal Burgers are an easy and healthy Burger recipe. High protein, plant-based diet for healthy snacking.
|
- 1 cup Sabut moong dal Whole green lentil
- 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
- 2-3 Boiled potatoes
- 2-3 tbsp cornflour or Gram flour /Rice flour/ all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp paprika or degi mirch as per your preference
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- Soak the moong dal /green whole lentil in a bowl overnight or for 7 -8 hours.
- Remove the water and grind it to a fine paste in a grinder. Try not to make the batter flowy as we need to bake the patties. (See Notes under)
- Heat the oven at 250 degrees celsius. In a greased pan, place thin patties of moong dal batter: as in pic. Bake this until done or for 20 minutes on the grill option. No need to add anything extra at this stage. Alternately, if you do not wish to bake, then deep fry them once and keep aside.
- Now, once the patties are done. Crush them in a grinder/mixer jar to powder.
- Now, in a bowl add boiled potato, ginger-garlic paste, salt, spices, and the moong dal batter. Mix well and make the Burgers.
- Shallow fry or just pan fry them with little oil on both sides.
- Roast the buns. Apply green mint sauce on the base. Place a cheese slice on it. put some papaya salad prepared (recipe link in post) and place the burgers on top. Pour come tomato ketchup over it.
- Add salt and pepper and serve hot.
1. To avoid frying twice, we have baked the moong dal patties to cook them well first and then ground them to a powder and added potatoes to bind them to make burgers. In case you are ok with frying, then you may not bake and fry then moong dal patties once and them crush them to powder.
