North India celebrates Navratri Fasting for 9 days followed by completion on ashtami or navmi with Kanjak pooja when we prepare Prasad Halwas and poori chana and celebrate the completion of fasting.During these 9 days only fruit based diet is taken and also the regular salt is prohibited and only sendha namak /rock salt intake is allowed.
